Construction to begin the evening of July 13. See more details below.
Snohomish County Public Works will be overlaying 1.23 miles on Airport Road and 128th St. SW from southeast of SR 99 to west of the I-5 interchange to preserve the pavement and make for a smoother driving surface for motorists. The project will use polymer modified asphalt designed to extend the life of the driving surface by as much as five years over regular asphalt. Polymer-modified asphalt provides better resistance to rutting and cracking.
ADA curb ramps on Airport Road and 19th Pl W will be replaced. Detection loops at Airport Road and Admiralty Way also will be replaced with more modern designs so that cars can better trigger traffic signals.
Construction to begin the evening of July 13, 2020 and is expected to wrap up in October 2020.
Work will occur from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. from Sunday night to Friday morning.
Construction will take place at night and one lane will remain open in each direction, minimizing impact to drivers. All lanes of the road will be operational during the day, outside of the contractor's working hours.
Access to businesses and sidewalks will be maintained.
