Construction is anticipated to begin in late July 2020 and be completed by the end of October. During construction, a full road closure is required. Drivers will be detoured via Crawford Loop Road. A signed detour route will be posted. Schools and emergency response teams have been notified to adjust routes as needed

Snohomish County is proposing to replace an existing culvert with a larger concrete box culvert on Sauk Prairie Road near Darrington to alleviate drainage problems. The project location is approximately half a mile east of the intersection with Crawford Loop Road. Several hundred feet of the roadway will be raised to accommodate the new culvert, eliminating water on the road and improving fish passage.
Project design is complete.
Utility poles near the project site have been relocated.
Construction is scheduled for July 2020 through the end of October 2020.

An environmental review and SEPA Checklist were completed for the proposed project in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) on April 19, 2017. Snohomish County Public Works determined that this project does not have a probable, significant adverse impact on the environment and has issued a Determination of Non-significance (DNS) on April 21, 2017.
