In 2017, Snohomish County Parks, Recreation, and Tourism began oversight of the Snohomish County Arts Commission. The Arts Commission cultivates and enhances a vibrant community of artists and arts organizations by connecting citizens with a range of cultural opportunities to celebrate, appreciate and participate in the diverse arts and culture of the County.
The Commissioners, who represent districts throughout the county, and at large, establish eligibility requirements, review requests, and select winning candidates, to provide visual and/or performing art for the public. Works of art are funded through an annual 1% allocation from certain constructions projects within the County.
