196th St SE / Grannis Rd

Construction to begin June 24

Construction will begin on Monday, June 24, 2019 and is expected to be completed by the end of September. Crews will be working Monday - Friday from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Single-Lane Closures

  • For the duration of the project there will be single-lane closures on 196th St SE / Grannis Rd from 22nd Ave SE to 189th Pl SE.
  • When school is in session, closures can only occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • When school is not in session, closures will occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Full Road Closure - July 15-28, 2019

There will be a full road closure on 196th St SE / Grannis Rd between 28th Dr SE and 193rd Pl SE. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 15 and the road will be re-opened by 7 a.m. on Monday, July 29. Local access will be granted during the closure. 

Description

The county is rehabilitating the pavement on 196th St SE / Grannis Rd from 22nd Ave SE to 189th Pl SE. This project will also improve sight distance by re-grading the existing profile of the road. Sidewalk ramps will be upgraded to meet ADA standards and a paved shoulder will be extended from 29th Ave SE to 193rd Pl SE.


Public Meeting

Snohomish County Public Works held a public meeting on June 27, 2017 to discuss four projects in this area. The projects were the 35th Ave SE - Phase II, 43rd Ave SE/Sunset Rd, 180th St SE Phase I and II, and 196th St SE/Grannis Rd. Staff was available to answer questions, review proposed improvements, and gather feedback on potential designs.
