Snohomish County Public Works, Surface Water Management Division, replaced the existing failing stormwater tank located under the north-bound lane of 34th Place West. The new tank was enlarged in order to reduce high flows downstream and improve water quality.
The work included excavating most of the north-bound lane, curb, and sidewalk; installing the new tank; and installing a drainage pipe connection from the tank, east to the existing stormwater system. Thirty-fourth Place West was resurfaced and replacement curb, gutter, and sidewalk was installed along the east side of the roadway. In addition, new curb, gutter, planter strip, and sidewalk were constructed from the intersection of 34th Place West and 156th Street SW to existing sidewalk located to the east. New curb ramps were installed at the intersection.
This project was constructed in the summer of 2017.
