Best Non-County Partner

Recognizing Collaboration with Information Technology

Success is sometimes only possible with the help of people outside the County. These people could include vendors, consultants, and non-county people participating in county-wide projects, or people who cleared a major roadblock and allowed stalled things to happen. Any person whose knowledge, skills or activities contributed significantly to an Information Technology achievement is eligible for this award.

  • Awarded to: City of Arlington
  • Presented to: Paul Ellis, City Administrator, and Bryan Terry, IT Manager
  • Description: The City of Arlington was invaluable during the Oso landslide, helping provide computer network connectivity and access. Bryan Terry, Information Technology Manager for the city, provided Snohomish County access to the city’s fiber-optic cabling which allowed the county to extend its network to the Joint Information Center, city hall, and the Arlington Airport. These connections provided the foundation for over 80% of the technology resources leveraged by those managing the disaster effort in the field.
