Alderwood Mall Parkway Pedestrian Improvements

Update - May 2020

Construction on this project resumed on May 4. The temporary suspension allowed the contractor time to prepare and submit a COVID-19 work plan to the county and acquire personal protective equipment for workers. The work plan provides for COVID-19 staff training, which includes social distancing when possible and following hazard mitigation plans for work tasks that do not allow for social distancing.

We appreciate your support in maintaining a six foot social distance from our construction workers. If you have questions about this project please contact us at the number listed on this page.

Snohomish County Public Works is scheduled to fill in two sidewalk gaps on the east side of Alderwood Mall Parkway between 164th St SW and 168th St SW this spring. The combined length of the new sidewalks is approximately 220 feet. New shoulder, curb, gutter, sidewalks, planter strips, drainage facilities, and retaining walls will also be constructed as part of the project. Other improvements include re-striping the roadway to add a northbound travel lane and improve associated ADA facilities where needed.

This project is scheduled to begin construction the week of March 16 and last through the end of April.

Environmental Review

An environmental review and right-of-way acquisitions have been completed for this project.

Traffic Impact

During sidewalk construction, lanes will be shifted and intermittent single-lane closures will take place.

This project is funded by the Snohomish County Road Fund.
