Alderwood Mall Parkway Pedestrian Improvements

Snohomish County Public Works is proposing to fill in two sidewalk gaps on the east side of Alderwood Mall Parkway between 164th St SW and 168th St SW. The combined length of the new sidewalks is approximately 220 feet. New shoulder, curb, gutter, sidewalks, planter strips, drainage facilities, and retaining walls would be constructed as part of the project. Other improvements include re-striping the roadway to add a northbound travel lane and improve associated ADA facilities where needed.

This project is currently in the engineering design phase and will require environmental review and potential right-of-way acquisitions. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2020.

Traffic Impact

During sidewalk construction, lanes will be shifted and potential intermediate single-lane closures may be needed.

This project will be funded by the Snohomish County Road Fund. Snohomish County Public Works is also seeking a grant to cover some of the project costs.
