Maltby Elementary Pedestrian Improvements

Description - Completed

Snohomish County Public Works improved pedestrian access and safety along the west side of 99th Avenue SE by constructing a 5-foot wide, continuous, walkable asphalt shoulder. This project constructed approximately ¼ mile of shoulder along 99th Ave SE from the intersection at Paradise Lake Road north to 216th Street SE. This project was constructed in 2014.

Providing a continuous shoulder improved walking conditions and pedestrian safety in the area south of Maltby Elementary School. The close proximity of the school results in high volumes of pedestrians walking to and from school in the project area. The pedestrian improvements tie into existing sections of shoulder to provide continuous pedestrian routes throughout the area.
