***North County Recycling and Transfer Station Construction /
CLOSED May 31 through June 2***

The North County Recycling and Transfer Station (NCRTS) is under construction through the end of May 2016 to upgrade the scales and scale house. Through May 30th, customer traffic throughout the station will be rerouted, causing potential delays, and the recycling area will be relocated on the site.

To complete the upgrades, the facility will be CLOSED May 31 through June 2.

Starting June 3rd, construction detours within NCRTS will be removed and normal access in and out of the station will resume. The temporary recycling area will remain in its current location until further notice.

When the facility re-opens, the following restrictions will continue for approximately two additional weeks:

  • Recycling will be limited to mixed paper, newspaper, cardboard, tin and aluminum cans, and glass bottles and jars.
  • Household hazardous waste collection will be limited to used oil, filters and antifreeze.
  • Batteries and fluorescent bulbs are not accepted.
  • Yard debris, wood debris and scrap metal will not be accepted in the recycle area, but will be accepted as garbage at garbage disposal rates.

For additional information see Construction Delays handout.
