Snohomish County Public Works has proposed improvements to the railroad crossing at 240th St SE, east of Snohomish Woodinville Road. Construction will include updates to the roadway from Snohomish Woodinville Road to the rail crossing, installation of a reinforced crossing, the addition of a connection to the existing sidewalk on the north side of the road, and upgrades to pedestrian facilities.
Construction will require a full closure of 240th Street SE east of Snohomish Woodinville Road for up to two weekends (Friday night to early Monday morning) and a two week single lane closure for eastbound traffic. During road closures, residents and commuters are encouraged to use alternate routes for access to and from 75th Ave SE and the affected businesses near the crossing.
Road closure signs will be placed in the area approximately one week prior to the closures.
The project is primarily funded by a Washington State Freight Rail Assistance Program grant and supplemented by the Snohomish County Road fund.
